SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking an experienced senior level Steel Detailer to join our growing team in York, PA.
The Steel Detailer is responsible for generating detailed shop drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals and plate weldments as needed for our heavy industrial market sector.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience and must be willing and capable of overseeing and checking the work of others.
A successful candidate should possess an Engineering or Construction Management degree or background with applicable field experience, strong computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Read and interpret complex construction documents and drawings
Assist Field Foreman and Project Managers with field data collection
Receive project drawings and develop detailed shop drawings for approval
Develop and respond to RFI’s as needed during detailing phases
Interact with project management staff and shop foreman to develop details to optimize both shop and field productivity
Compile review comments and issue for fabrication drawings
Coordinate and manage detailing, submittals and project documentation
Coordinate 3rd party detailers as needed
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent communication and time management skills
Extreme attention to detail and experience with tight deadlines
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Technical Education certificate or degree in CAD or related field
10 years of experience as a structural and misc.
metals detailer
Vast knowledge of AISC Standards and Industrial codes and symbols
Must be familiar with 3D environments and detailing software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
Knowledge of industrial processes and material handling equipment is preferred
