We would like you to be responsible for the definition, development, and delivery of a suite of software tools that support the success of the Chiller business team by enabling our sales teams and customers to design and select equipment for applications serving buildings and systems ranging from lite commercial through industrial cooling and heating systems around the world.
The key responsibility for this role will be to manage a team of professional product owners and business analysts through the development and sustaining of a cloud-based software platform, mobile applications, and other unique tools needed by our stakeholders.
It includes the transformation of our remaining desktop applications to cloud-based platforms and supporting a broad range of stakeholders across the business.
Process areas in scope for this role pertain to the activities required to develop and launch new products to sustain and improve existing ones, improve the platform speed and reliability, and improve the overall user experience through strong relationships with our users and business stakeholders.
Equally critical will be the capability to deliver software tools that enable sales to configure, price, quote, and order equipment by providing the needed clarity on scope, timing, and individual responsibility of each of the software development tasks as an Agile Product Manager.
The successful candidate will direct a team of experienced software product owners and join a global team with a strong connection to each of our product design, engineering, product management, field sales, operations, and manufacturing centers and their existing processes.
How you will do it: Act as a servant leader and guide their team and the development teams through the desktop-to-cloud transformation journey.
Build a safe environment that fosters trust and collaboration between teams and team members.
Analyze existing software development procedures, identify improvement opportunities, document resolution alternatives, and suggest solutions to automate processing or to increase efficiency.
Own and prioritize the backlog of work for the suite of software tools and collaborate with the assigned scrum master to distribute the work amongst multiple Agile teams and product owners to refine, prioritize, plan, and deliver said backlog.
Direct and coordinate the work of their team members to develop, test, and release functionalities and upgrades to the suite of software tools.
Coordinate with UAT testers to validate functionalities prior to release.
Contribute to UAT testing when required.
Provide regular communications on progress for releases and completion of backlog! Participate in equipment product teams to assess the impact of selection tools and provide feedback to product team planning and prioritization! Provide regular feedback to peers and stakeholders on progress and challenges.
Provide 2nd level of user support for the suite of software tools.
Adopt a hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving.
Act as a change agent.
Be enthusiastic about embracing change and helping the broader organization become more efficient.
What we look for: Required: Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum seven years of product and/or software development lifecycle experience Minimum five years of experience in management to team lead position Strong familiarity with product businesses, equipment design, documentation, and manufacturing of configurable products.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required since the Product Manager has to communicate with team members, other departments, upper management, and consumers of the company’s products.
Expertise in the chiller product or market including sales processes, engineering, and product development processes.
Superior project management and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask, and work well under pressure.
Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative.
Team player who collaborates well with others Sincere empathy for the customer and a commitment to delving deep into the challenges they present or experience.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
