*POSITION SUMMARY: * This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charitable nonprofit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Community Impact Director (CID) at the Hanover Area YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also serving as the CID between the branches and association office.
The CID will be responsible for advancing the Y's organizational sustainability through annual giving, major gifts cultivation in tandem with the CEO and VP of Operations (VPO), grants, endowment bequests and assist with capital/redevelopment campaigns.
All of this will take place using a community impact lens including being actively involved in seeking new partnerships with nonprofit and corporate entities.
The CID has the ability to create genuine relationships with staff, donors, potential donors, and community organizations (both private and public).
The Y needs a passionate leader who can be influential in the community with a proven track record of community service and volunteerism, understanding that access to these networks advances the Y’s cause.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* 1.
Leads the Y’s cause- driven fund development efforts including the primary responsibility of strengthening the infrastructure and ability of the Y to grow budget through solicitation of annual and major gifts, grants, special events, corporate and foundation support.
2.
Leads the Y’s community impact (CI) efforts including developing and hosting CI events, maintaining, and cultivating new CI partnerships, and helping to educate staff, volunteers, donors, and the community about the Y’s role as a regional CI organization.
3.
Responsible for prospect research, assistance with cultivation, implementation, securing gifts and thank you plans for annual and capital/redevelopment campaigns, and all events associated with those campaigns.
4.
Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with regional and state level organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
5.
Leads all philanthropic/community outreach marketing/communication initiatives (newsletter, website, community outreach and social media) and represents the Y in appropriate community affairs, building relationships with corporate, non-profit, and media representatives.
6.
Collaborates with the CEO/VPO to help influence the Board of Directors and committees as they continue to build a more active fundraising role.
Promotes a growth mindset while working with the staff team, volunteers, board, and Y member philanthropic campaigns.
7.
Serves as the staff leader for the Annual Campaign Kids Come First Campaign Association Committee which also leads the Annual Dinner and Volunteer Appreciation Social.
8.
Serves as a member of senior Y management and supports the overall objectives of the Y.
Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies that capitalize on community impact.
9.
Provides leadership and consulting support to management on matters of reinforcing culture, setting goals, developing policy, and implementing strategic objectives.
10.
Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
The CID will actively participate in suggested service organizations.
11.
In conjunction with the CEO & VPO, develops and manages a sustainable operating budget for the community impact department.
12.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

*QUALIFICATIONS: * ● Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business, communications, public relations, or equivalent.
● Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a leadership and supervisory role with a YMCA, or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
● Fiscally sound business management approach and a proven record of accomplishment of budgetary and fiscal management.
● Direct experience working with Boards of Directors, board committees, and volunteer development.
● Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, inclusive of successful experience directly preparing and delivering materials and presentations on needs, campaign case, and/or complex topics that influence decision makers at high levels of foundations, government, community organizations, corporations, and across diverse communities.
● Demonstrated ability to develop strategic and operational plans and successful implementation through effective change management techniques.
● Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
● Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
● Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
