Job Summary: Plastics processing engineer/technician with a BS degree or equivalent community college/tech school training and a minimum of 10 years of hands on injection molding experience in a high speed thin wall, caps & closures or packaging environment.
Equal opportunity is given to a high volume, fast cycle production background from a medial disposable production environment.
This position requires an individual with a thorough understanding of mold and machine setup, molding machine operation, process optimization, as well as mold design/function.
Hands on experience with mold debug, developing a robust process and process trouble shooting is a must.
Knowledge of polymer materials and operating parameters is necessary.
The ability to provide part design feedback and point out potential required mold modifications and ability to develop/implement process information/documentation and production improvement data is a definite requirement.
This position also requires travel as these duties also need to be performed at our customer locations.
Possession of an RJG Master Molder Certificate a definite plus.
This position requires extensive travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Set up of Injection molding presses for mold trials/tests/production.
Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters/processes.
Use strong problem solving skills to troubleshoot mold, machines, auxiliary equipment, and processes.
Trouble shoot process related issues in the lab as well as customer site.
Participate to activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
Design and execute DOE to establish process and for R&D work.
Review processing methods.
Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.
Develop and maintain process documentation.
Assist in the development of training and provide training for technology transfer.
Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Willingness to work and follow instructions, cooperative attitude toward co-workers and supervisors.
Will work alone and in a team environment with changing assignments.
Familiar with MS Windows and Office environment, SAP experience an asset.
Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Qualifications: Education: • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant community college or technical school training • Possession of an RJG Master Molder Certificate a definite plus Experience: • Minimum of 10 years of hands on injection molding experience in a high speed packaging/thin wall molding operation • This position requires an individual with a thorough understanding of mold setup, molding machine operation as well as mold design/function • Hands-on experience with mold debug, developing a robust process and process trouble shooting is a must Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of polymer materials and operating parameters is necessary • Willingness to work and follow instructions, with a cooperative attitude toward internal and external customers • Demonstrated ability to work alone and in a team environment with changing assignments • Familiarity with MS Windows and Office environment, SAP experience preferred OTHER REQUIREMENTS Travel: • This position also requires travel up to 70% as these duties also need to be performed at our customer locations • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally is also required WHY ENGEL?
