Stambaugh Ness is seeking a highly skilled Managing Director to lead our National Tax Practice that serves the Architectural and Engineering, Manufacturing, and Construction industries.
As a Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the Tax Practice, developing and executing strategies to achieve financial and operational objectives, managing client relationships, and leading a team of talented tax professionals.
What you’ll be doing: Develop and implement strategic plans for the National Tax Practice that align with the firm's overall growth and service objectives.
Provide leadership to a team of tax professionals while embracing our Gallup's Strengths initiative, ensuring they have the necessary skills, resources, and support to deliver high-quality service to clients.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
Manage client relationships, ensuring that clients receive timely and accurate tax advice and services that meet their needs.
Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standards, and the SN QC Function.
ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals Present complex strategies to clients and prospective clients Manage growth, performance and profitability of the National Tax Practice.
Stay up-to-date with industry developments, changes in tax laws and regulations, and other relevant trends that may impact the National Tax Practice and its clients.
Identify anticipatory opportunities for growth and expansion of the National Tax Practice and work with the firm's leadership team to capitalize on those opportunities.
Responsible for overall client service by encouraging team’s adherence to QC policies (including engagement letters, documentation, etc) About You: You are a CPA and audit professional with extensive (10+ years) experience in client facing work, in a mid-size to large CPA firm.

What it takes to be a Managing Director of our National Tax Practice: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s Degree preferred in Tax , and CPA required 15 + years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience 10 + years of supervisory experience Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with experience serving clients in the Architectural and Engineering, Manufacturing, and Construction industries.
Strong ability to effectively develop and maintain client relationships Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced and growing firm.

This position may be eligible for annual discretionary performance bonus opportunities, as well as new hire referral bonus program.
