Accounting Assistant / Payroll
The Accounting Assistant works with the hospital Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure reports, projects and other duties as assigned, are completed in accordance with our policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable, researching and preparing the Outside Services Log, and the reviewing and approving of Pcard transactions.
The Accounting Assistant is also responsible for Payroll duties such as working with managers/supervisors, HR and Corporate Payroll Depts to ensure the timely processing of payroll and payroll reconciliation in compliance with regulations and Encompass Health's policies and procedures.
This position also assists in troubleshooting questions regarding all aspects of payroll items.

License or Certification:
- Licenses and certifications are not required for this position.
Education, Training and Years of Experience:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong Excel, Microsoft Word and other computer skills are required.
Machines, Equipment Used:
- General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
Physical Requirements:
- Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds and ability push/pull a minimum of 15 pounds.
Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
- Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.
